Spanish soprano Sylvia Schwartz is fast becoming one of the most exciting lyric sopranos of her generation.

She is a recent past member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin where her roles included Oscar (Ballo), Susanna (Marriage of Figaro), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Pamina (Die Zauberflote) and Marzelline (Fidelio), working with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Philippe Jordan, Rene Jacobs and Fabio Luisi.

Sylvia has also appeared at various opera houses and festivals including The Bolshoi Theatre, Staatsoper Berlin, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, La Scala Milan, Théâtre du Châtelet, Baden Baden and Verbier Festival.

Aside from this, Sylvia is also in demand on the concert and recital platform and has performed with pianists such as Malcolm Martineau, Wolfram Rieger, Kirill Gerstein, Simon Lepper and Gary Matthewman and with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Sir Colin Davis, Gustavo Dudamel, Patrick Fournillier, Ion Marin, Jean Christophe Spinsoi, Helmut Rilling and Christopher Hogwood.

Future engagements include opera performances at Vienna Staatsoper, Berlin Staatsoper and Maggio Musicale Florence, concerts in Vienna (with José Carreras), Dusseldorf, Oslo and Salzburg Festival and recitals at Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall London and De Singel Antwerp.
