recreation – GROSSES ORCHESTER GRAZ has worked with many important conductors who are specialised in Early Music such as Jordi Savall, Roy Goodman and Paul Goodwin. Under the baton of its new Principal Conductor Michael Hofstetter, a renowned Early Music specialist, the orchestra goes a step further: An ensemble out of the orchestra and with the name recreationBAROCK will concentrate on historical performance practice - with its usual energy, with gut strings and historical tuning. The ensemble’s first concert will be at the styriarte Festival in June 2012, along with great musicians such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Jordi Savall.
