The mezzo-soprano Anna Clare Hauf was born in London and studied solo vocals by Rotraud Hansmann and song and oratory by Charles Spencer at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna and finished her studies 2004 with distinction. Among others, Anna Clare Hauf worked together with Christian Muthspiel, Leopold Hager, Christoph Cech, the Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich, Klaus Maria Brandauer, Martin Haselböck and the Wiener Akademie, the Klangforum Wien and the Camerata Salzburg. Her opera repertoire includes “Die Zauberflöte” (3. Dame, Volksoper Wien 2002), “Albert Herring” (Mutter, Studiobühne Penzing 1999) and “The Beggar’s Opera” (Mrs. Peachum, Neue Oper Wien 2004). In 2005 she performed the Irma/La Reine in the Austrian premiere of Peter Eötvös’ “Le Balcon” at the Neue Oper Wien, as well as 2006 in the premiere of Erik Højsgaards “Don Juan kommt aus dem Krieg”. 2006 she also sang at the Kabinetttheater in the puppet opera “terribile e spaventosa storia del principe di venosa e della bella maria” by Salvatore Sciarrino.
