Leopold Mozart: Small piano pieces
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sonata in e minor for violin and piano, K 304
Franz Xaver Mozart: Piano quartet in g minor, op. 1
Grande Sonate in E major for violoncello and piano, op. 19
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Piano quartet in E flat major, K 493
When Wolfgang was still quite young and had barely begun to outshine his sister, Leopold Mozart lovingly entered harpsichord pieces into an exercise book for his children. Thus began a radiant musical dynasty that would only last for three short generations to come. A half century later, his father dead and grandfather forgotten, Franz Xaver Mozart was referred to by his mother as “Amadeus Junior”. With the help of well-known colleagues and beautiful chamber music, Markus Schirmer paints a portrait of these three disparate Mozarts.
