The Holy Trinity – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – is the focal point of every Christian mass worldwide. God, in his three incarnations, is not to be measured against the benchmark of human families. The unity between father and son, the “Deum de Deo, lumen de lumine” and “qui ex Patre Filioque procedit” of the the Nicene Creed, is unfathomable. Great composers have tirelessly transformed this theological truth into melody, in particular for the organ. The styriarte festival is proud to present these melodies in an organ mass comprising pieces from Bach to Messiaen.
