The Sound of Stübing
<Fest #2>
Family music in the museum village
What is the nucleus of music? It is most probably the family circle, where people have drummed, sung and danced since time immemorial. Families still perform today, drawing audiences in with their own special brand of musical symbiosis. When US-Americans talk about Austria, they primarily think of the Trapp family who were immortalised in the musical “The Sound Of Music”. The Trapps performed as a choir to make ends meet before emigrating from Salzburg to the USA during World War II and the film based on their experiences is a lasting musical tribute.
“The Sound of Stübing” invites you to Stübing’s museum village to enjoy unique musical performances by families from all over Europe. The finale is a spectacular trans-border merging of Irish, Baltic, Sinti, Greek, Italian and Styrian music.
A special folder will be published for this project.
