Born in Slovenj Gradec/Slovenia, the mezzosoprano and harpist Tanja Vogrin started her musical path taking accordion and piano lessons. While studying German Language and Literature at the University in Maribor she attended singing classes(D.Simonović, J.Korat) and harp lessons( D.Bernatović) at the secondary music school in Velenje and Maribor.
She studied singing with Annemarie Zeller and Joanna Borowska-Isser and harp with Eva Hoffellner, Arcola Clark and Ágnes Polónyi. She aquired a master’s degree with honours in singing from University of music and performing arts in Graz/Austria.
In 2006 she sang her opera-debut as Dido in Purcell’s »Dido and Aeneas« at the »Theater im Palais« in Graz. In Slovenj Gradec and Maribor she teaches singing and harp. She attended numerous masterclasses, especially for early music, and is lately involved in studies of historical harps. As a soloist as well as a member of various ensembles she gives regular concerts in Slovenia and other european countries.
