Die Hautboistenshare on facebook A concert at Planetensaal followed by a picnic in the palace park
The most dignified sound ever created in the baroque era: music for oboe band, played by Alfredo Bernardini and his Italian woodwind virtuosos in Zefiro.
With music by Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer, Philipp Heinrich Erlebach, Tomaso Albinoni (in the Hall of the Planets)
Jean Baptiste Lully, Georg Muffat, Johann Joseph Fux (at the picnic in the park)
The Hall of the Planets in Eggenberg Palace is the perfect setting for the most dignified sound ever created in the baroque era: the music of an oboe ensemble. King George I, Louis XIV and the Emperors in Vienna all loved the sounds of baroque oboes and bassoons. Alfredo Bernardini, one of the world’s leading baroque oboists, and his fantastic fellow musicians in Zefiro will transform the marches and dances of Versailles, Venice and Vienna into sedate baroque – not without a touch of irony, though.
After the concert in the The Hall of the Planets, food, cold drinks and basic seating will be awaiting out on the grass. Tickets for a picnic box (EUR 15) are only available in advance at our ticket centre or in our Webshop. Weather permitting, the picnic will be outdoors. Should it be raining, we will be happy to pack your picnic for you to enjoy at home. If you wish to bring your own picnic basket, we will be happy to look after it for you in the cloakroom while you are enjoying the concert.
