styriarte outing to the Ausseerland
Folk tales have been warning about it for centuries: dancing elves are not to be trusted! Lonely wanderers risk falling under their spell in the woods. To avoid this from happening at the morning and evening round dance at lake Grundlsee, the styriarte divides its hiking audience into guided groups. After the welcome drink at the lake, we will swarm out to the wildly romantic playgrounds: a young string quartet lets Mendelssohn’s elfin sounds buzz across lake Toplitzsee. Chris Pichler reads Barbara Frischmuth at the waterfall. Miriam Andersén flashes seductively in the style of the Loreley. Yodel tunes and a hearty snack are also on the programme before the Arnold Schoenberg Choir gathers in front of the cliff and strikes up songs by Purcell and Mendelssohn for the grand finale. Should some disapproving god of the forest send us rain, the event will take place at the Kursaal in Bad Aussee.
styriarte offers a bus shuttle service to Grundlsee:
