Johann Joseph Fux: Serenade in C major, K 352 etc. from Concentus musico-instrumentalis Folk music
As we know, Johann Joseph Fux, the Styrian farmer’s son from Hirtenfeld, took along a few dance tunes from home to use at the Imperial Court in Vienna. Michael Hell and Sepp Pichler have put together a wonderful programme of smooth transitions from traditional folk music to baroque, from Styrian tunes to minuets, revealing the bucolic side of the Imperial Kapellmeister at the Habsburg Court.
