Maria Ladurner

Soprano

Excellent stylistics and a brightly shining vocal sound are the qualities with which Maria Ladurner has rushed from success to success in the baroque and classical repertoire. In addition to guest appearances at numerous European houses, she also made her Styriarte debut in 2020 at the Festival opening with the leading role in J. J. Fux's "Gifts of the Night".

Fritz Kircher

Violin

With his two violins, the Carinthian covers the field of historical practice as well as that of modern sound. As first violinist of the Haydn Quartet and member of other chamber music ensembles, he performs on the major international stages. He is also closely associated with the Styriarte as guest concertmaster of the Recreation Orchestra.

Ursina Braun

Violoncello

The musician, born in Zurich in 1992, lives out her intensely personal approach to music in the world of composition, which she discovered for herself at the age of 14. Much earlier she decided on her instrument, the violoncello, with which she has won numerous international prizes. Stylistically, she can do everything - from baroque to modern.

Florian Birsak

Fortepiano

The Salzburg native is one of the most respected specialists in historically informed performance practice on the fortepiano and harpsichord. His outstanding basso continuo playing makes him a sought-after continuo partner for numerous top orchestras, and he also shines as a stylistically confident soloist and chamber musician in baroque and classical music.

Content

love’s joy and love’s sorrow

After Mozart’s death, interest in his German Lieder was enormous, since they recounted so convincingly the timeless story of love’s joy and love’s sorrow. Austrian soprano Maria Ladurner makes of them little operatic scenes, in which she is either enchanted by men, or condemning them for their faithlessness. Accompanying on a historical fortepiano, Florian Birsak brings out the theatrical atmosphere, as in the Turkish March from K 331 or the great piano trio K 502.

The performance lasts 60-70 minutes without an interval.
