György Ligeti: from the Six bagatelles for wind quintet
World premieres by Elisabeth Harnik and Christof Ressi
Commissioned works from the styriarte Festival 2019
Many composers of our time have taken the brilliant Hungarian György Ligeti as an example. When he was young, he wrote an homage to Bartók in his piano cycle “Musica ricercata”. Later, he arranged six movements from it for wind players: the famous “Bagatelles”. They are now the starting point for new paraphrases of these paraphrases. An “homage à Ligeti”.
