Everything that first had tourists flocking to Venice is here to be enjoyed: a night of amorous adventure as described by Casanova; the incredible virtuosity of Vivaldi and his orchestra; the heavenly singing of a classical prima donna like Adriana Ferrarese, who provoked a scandal when she fled with her lover from a Venetian orphanage in 1783.
