The Styriarte Youth Orchestra is back and lights a fire with Beethoven's 3rd Symphony "Eroica" - conducted by Maestra Mei-Ann Chen and choreographed by Adrian Schvarzstein and Jūratė Širvytė. The exclusive orchestra camp is YOUR chance to be part of it.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Young musicians who are still in training or have not yet taken up a relevant job after completing their studies.
These are the requirements for your participation:
You are available for the entire production period (09.-15.07.2023). You can find the details below.
You are between 16 and 27 years old.
You play one of the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn or trumpet.

WE OFFER YOU
The opportunity to work with Maestra Mei-Ann Chen and selected coaches and gain experience in a professional orchestral environment organised by a renowned cultural institution.
The opportunity to get to know the orchestra not only as a sounding body but also as a scenic space (working with director and multi-talent Adrian Schvarzstein).
Accommodation and meals for the entire production period as well as a lump-sum payment of EUR 180.
Dates
Arrival on 09.07.2023 in the afternoon, departure on 15.07.2023 in the morning
14.07. Dress rehearsal (10 am) + performance (7 pm) in the Helmut List Halle Graz

This is how it works:
You shoot a video as an application! Your video application must have two parts:
Intro part - Tell us about yourself! Who are you? Why do you want to be part of the Styriarte Youth Orchestra?
Musical part - Play all the given rehearsal parts and possibly a free piece!
The sheet music for the rehearsal parts can be found >>here.
Your video should be max. 5 minutes long: approx. 1 minute of performance + approx. 4 minutes of musical part.
Then upload your video to YouTube/Vimeo etc. Your video must be playable online!
Then send us an e-mail with the link to your video, your personal data (date of birth, e-mail address and telephone number).
We do not need any letters of recommendation or other documents. Just convince us with your video! 😊
