Carin Filipčić

With a musical education in Vienna and Prague, the native Viennese gained a foothold on international opera and theatre stages. She also spent years working with Roma ethnic music and gained experience in cabaret and as a voice coach.

The native of Vienna has appeared all over German-speaking Europe in a variety of theaters: Gärtnerplatztheater, Munich, Germany; Opera Graz, Austria; Theater a.d.Rott, Germany;  Summerfestival Amstetten, Austria;  Theater St.Gallen/CH;  Stadsttheater Klagenfurt, Austria; Musicaltheater Duisburg, Germany; Opera Brünn, Czech Republic,  Häbsetheater Basel/CH and Theater Trier, Germany.

Her roles include Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd), Aldonza (The Man of La Mancha), Fantine & Madame Thenardier (Les Miserables), Rizzo (Grease), Maria Magdalena (Jesus Christ Superstar),  Martha (The Secret Garden), Sarah/Martha (Company), Melpomene (Xanadu), Madeline True (The Wild Party), Miss Sherman (Fame), Mme.de Volanges (Dangerous Liasons), Georgie (The Full Monty), Herod (Jesus Christ Superstar), Josefa Vogelhuber ( Im Weissen Rössl),  Francesca (Madison County). At the United Stages of Vienna (Vereinigten Bühnen Wien) she created the roles of the Nurse (Amme) in Austrian premiere of Romeo & Julia; Mrs. van Hopper in the world premiere of Rebecca (also in St. Gallen, Switzerland) and Gräfin Larisch in the German Language premiere of Frank Wildhorn’s Rudolf-Affaire Mayerling. She was also seen as Baronin von Waldstätten and Cäcilia Weber in the world premiere of Mozart!; Norma (Forbidden Ronacher); Ludovika/Frau Wolf (Elisabeth) and as Romy Edler in the world premiere of I Am From Austria .

Currently  she can be seen as Grizabella in CATS in Vienna, Austria

Cabaret work has led her to appearances on the renowned Cabaret Simpl and Vindobona stages, both in Vienna, Austria Solo:  Lola in Georg Kreisler’s one-woman-show,  Heute Abend: Lola Blau since 2009. In addition to her work as a vocal coach, Carin Filipcic is a sought-after concert singer.
