The STYRIARTE YOUTH ORCHESTRA enters the next round and brings Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" to the orchestra stage. Become part of this exciting adventure under the direction of Maestra Mei-Ann Chen and choreographed by multi-talented Adrian Schvarzstein.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Young musicians who are still in training or have not yet accepted a relevant job after completing their training.

These are the requirements for your participation:

• You are available for the entire production period (July 07 - 12, 2024). You can find the details below.

• You are between 16 and 27 years old.

• You play one of the following instruments:
  strings, flute/piccolo, oboe/English horn, clarinet/bass clarinet, bassoon, alto saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone/bass trombone, tuba, timpani + percussion, harp 

With this making-of from Youth Orchestra Camp 22 you can get an idea of what an exciting adventure awaits you again this year:

WE OFFER

• The opportunity to work with Maestra Mei-Ann Chen and selected coaches and gain experience in a professional orchestral environment organised by a renowned cultural institution.

• The opportunity to get to know the orchestra not only as a body of sound, but also as a scenic space (working with director and multi-talent Adrian Schvarzstein).

• Accommodation and food for the entire production period as well as a lump-sum payment of EUR 180.

Dates

• Arrival on 07.07.2024 in the afternoon,
  departure on 13.07.2024 in the morning

• Dress rehearsal on 12.07.2024 (10 am),
  performance on 12.07.2024 (7 pm) in the Helmut List Halle Graz

Apply with a VIDEO!

This is how it works:

• You shoot a video as an application! Your video application must have two parts:
  Intro part - Tell us about yourself! Who are you? Why do you want to be part of the Styriarte Youth Orchestra?
  Musical part - Play all the given audition parts and possibly a free piece!

• You will soon find the sheet music for the auditions >>here.

• Your video should be max. 5 minutes in length: approx. 1 minute introduction + approx. 4 minutes musical part

• Then upload your video to YouTube/Vimeo etc. Your video must be playable online!

• Then send us an e-mail with the link to your video, your personal details (date of birth, e-mail address and telephone number)

• We don't need any letters of recommendation or other documents. Just convince us with your video! 😊
