King George II hatte sich unmissverständlich ausgedrückt: In Händels Festmusik zum Friedensfeuerwerk von 1749 wollte er keine Streicher hören, sondern nur „Martial Instruments“. 24 Oboen, 9 Hörner, 9 Trompeten, 12 Fagotte, Kontrafagott und 3 Pauken vereinten sich zur „Royal Fireworks Music“. Der italienische Meisteroboist Paolo Grazzi lässt dieses imposante „Blasmusik-Spektakel“ bei der Styriarte wieder auferstehen. Dazu entsenden acht Musikhochschulen und Konservatorien ihre besten Barockbläser.

Paolo Grazzi

Oboe

Paolo Grazzi was awarded the "Premier Prix" with distinction in oboe and baroque oboe in Italy in 1981 and soon became a recognised specialist for this instrument, both as a performer and as a teacher in Italy and abroad. As a performer, he regularly collaborates with leading early music ensembles in Europe. He also teaches oboe at the Verona Conservatory.
