Beethoven’s greatest violin sonata is such powerful music that it breaks all bonds of emotion. In Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, the piano transcends the black and white of its keys, creating sound paintings in rich colours. Two masterpieces of classical music, with piano virtuoso Bernd Glemser ably partnered by Mirijam Contzen on the violin.
