David Tricou

David Tricou is originally from Montpellier, where he studied singing at the local conservatoire before graduating with distinction from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. His haute-contre voice is perfectly suited to the Baroque repertoire: Rameau’s „Pygmalion“ and „Anacréon“ on an international tour with William Christie, Cavalli’s „L’Egisto“ at the Opéra-Comique in Paris and with Vincent Dumestre in Luxembourg, and Rossi’s „L’Orfeo“ in Versailles, Nancy, Bordeaux and Caen under the baton of Raphaël Pichon. He sang in Rameau’s „Castor et Pollux“ in Sablé and at the Chaise-Dieu Festival, as well as John Blow’s „Venus and Adonis“ in Caen.

He has presented Mozart with great style as Tamino in „The Magic Flute“, Marzio in „Mitridate“ and Ferrando in „Così fan tutte“. He portrayed Ubaldo in Haydn’s „Armida“, Adolphe in Dalayrac’s „Adolphe et Clara“, Antiochus in Méhul’s „Stratonice“, and made his debut in the roles of Almaviva in „Il Barbiere di Siviglia“ and Nemorino in „L’Elisir d’Amore“. He also took part in a double bill of „Les Deux Chasseurs“ and „Le Peintre Amoureux“ by Anseaume, conducted by Martin Wahlberg in Norway. In the field of contemporary music, he was involved in the world premiere of „Tales of the Pale and Silvery Moon after the Rain“ by Xavier Dayer.In concert, he has sung Handel’s „Messiah“ in Reims under the baton of Jean-Claude Malgoire, Haydn’s „The Creation“, Saint-Saëns’ „Requiem“, Gounod’s „Messe solennelle de Sainte-Cécile“ in Montpellier, Orff’s „Carmina Burana“, Mozart’s „Requiem“, Caillebotte’s „Missa solemnis“ and Schubert’s Mass in E flat major, conducted by Michel Piquemal. He has also performed Charpentier’s „Messe de Minuit“ and „Te Deum“, the programme „Royal Concert by Night“ (Charpentier, Rossi) on a concert tour with Sébastien Daucé, Charpentier’s „Les Leçons de Ténèbres“ with Vincent Dumestre, Caccini’s „Euridice“ conducted by Nicholas Achten, Purcell’s „Odes“ with „Le Banquet Céleste“, Marais’s „Ariane et Bacchus“ conducted by Hervé Niquet at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and „Musique pour la Sainte Chapelle“ with William Christie, with whom he sang the programme „Molière et ses Musiques“. As a soloist, he regularly performs with the pianist Masumi Fukaya, presenting a selection of French and German art songs.
