The wondrous world of sound of this ensemble, founded in 1991, stretches from the Middle Ages to the early Renaissance. At its core, it consists of top-class specialists in long-forgotten playing styles and musical traditions who bring their profound knowledge of the ancient to life with irrepressible joy in playing and the highest art of improvisation.

Focus
Under its direction, musicians from Austria, Italy and Germany specialising in historical instruments form the centre of this international ensemble, with a focus on lively performance practice and historical improvisation. Depending on the programme, qualified singers and instrumentalists are invited as guest musicians.
Intensive study and research in the field of early music are enriched by years of concert experience with established ensembles.
CD Productions
The ensemble has a range of CD productions with NAXOS and has worked in close contact with Austrian embassies and cultural institutes for many years. In addition to numerous concert tours throughout Europe, the ensemble has made guest appearances in Canada, Turkey and the Middle East, among other places, and has participated in international concert series and festivals, such as the Vienna Konzerthaus and Resonanzen, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Conservatory of Amman/Jordan, the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa, the Festwochen der Alten Musik in Innsbruck and many others.
