A special moment in the history of the Styriarte that we would like to share with you today. Beethoven's 9th Symphony was on the Styriarte programme in 2016. Nikolaus Harnoncourt wanted to realise it in a large Beethoven cycle. This never materialised. Andrés Orozco-Estrada realised it then and so the ‘Ode to Joy’ was broadcast as an ORF Klangwolke throughout Styria and far beyond. The 9th Symphony celebrates its 200th birthday on 7 May 2024.
