Florian Stanek

The actor, singer and author studied in his hometown Vienna and in Paris and has already worked on stages such as those of the Theater an der Wien and the Graz Opera. In addition to his work as a writer for ORF, Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin and many other institutions, the young actor also thrilled audiences in TV series such as "Vorstadtweiber" and "SOKO Donau" and emerged as the winner of the German Musical Theatre Award 2018.

Versatile stage talent

Florian Stanek was born in 1988 in Vienna. He studied musical theatre at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna, MUK Wien (formerly: Konservatorium Wien). Subsequently he went on to study physical theatre at the prestigious École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

Stage credits include: Tipi am Kanzleramt Berlin (MC in “Cabaret“), Graz Opera House (e.g. as Houdini in “Ragtime“, “Puss in boots“, “Grimm“), Theater an der Wien (“The Threepenny Opera“, directed by Keith Warner, with Tobias Moretti and Anne Sofie von Otter), the Linz State Theatre (“The Hare with Amber Eyes“), Chemnitz Opera House (“Emil und die Detektive“), Bühne Baden (e.g. in “Countess Maritza“, “Victor/Victoria“, “Das Dreimäderlhaus“), the Bad Ischl Lehár Festival, the Kittsee Opera Festival as well as numerous other venues.

Für Film und Fernsehen konnte Florian Stanek bislang u.a. für die Produktionen „Applause/Potlesk“ (Kino), „Vorstadtweiber“, „Soko Donau“, „Letzter Wille“, „Kalahari Gemsen“ (alle ORF), den Dänischen Rundfunk DR, sowie „Unter Freunden“ (ATV) vor der Kamera stehen.

He was awarded the 2018 German Musical Theatre Prize as "Best Leading Actor in a Musical".
