Lukas Meißl (born 1995) is an Austrian musician (pianist, composer, arranger and teacher), journalist, author and presenter from Graz (Austria).
He grew up in Anger near Weiz in eastern Styria and attended the instrumental music programme at BORG Birkfeld and graduated from the Birkfeld music school for classical piano and jazz. He then studied history at the University of Graz and music education (piano, guitar, singing) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He also completed his concert studies in jazz piano at the jazz department of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz under Olaf Polziehn (Bachelor and Master) with honours.He has worked with internationally renowned artists, singers, choirs and orchestras. He can be heard throughout Austria and Europe with his trio, the "OSTstyrian Rhythm Section" as well as with the funk band "Candlelight Ficus", the "Max Kreuzer Octet" and other formations. As a solo artist, he took second place at the international jazz competition in Rome in 2022. In addition to his work as a pianist and keyboardist, he is a composer, lyricist and arranger and as such has written music for plays and television programs. He teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and is a speaker at workshops.
