Bass Manuel Winckhler
The sought-after Munich concert singer studied singing at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich. He was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association Munich and received the Deutschlandstipendium. His repertoire ranges from the oratorios of J. S. Bach to Mozart's Requiem and romantic works such as the Brahms Requiem.

Career
Manuel Winckhler received most of his education at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München by Lars Woldt. Prior to that, he studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Andreas Macco and Fenna Kügel-Seifried. He also received numerous artistic impulses through song lessons with Christian Gerhaher and Fritz Schwinghammer as well as through master classes with Christiane Iven, James Cheung and Ian Bostridge. He was awarded the Deutschlandstipendium and was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Verband München.
On Stage
In the 2023/2024 season the bass portrays the role of the Mother (K. Weill: Die sieben Todsünden) at the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Osmin (W. A. Mozart: Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at the Munich Cuvilliés Theater and Reinmar von Zweter (R. Wagner: Tannhäuser) at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. There he also took over the role of Sarastro in the Magic Flute in May 2024 on short notice. Winckhler made his stage debut in the 2021/2022 season as the Third Policeman (E. Krenek: Jonny spielt auf) at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich. Throughout his education, he has built an extensive stage repertoire with roles such as Sarastro (W. A. Mozart: The Magic Flute), Simone (G. Puccini: Gianni Schicchi), Lykomedes (W.-A. Schultz: Achill unter den Mädchen) and Dottore Grenvil (G. Verdi: La Traviata).
In summer 2024 Manuel Winckhler will be part of the Young Singers Project of Salzburg Festival. There he will appear as the 3rd Vagabond (C. Orff: Die Kluge) in a children's opera at the Salzburger Schauspielhaus.
Concert and Lied
The young bass is a well appreciated concert singer. In the 2023/2024 concert season, he performs works including Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's Creation, Brahms' Requiem as well as Bruckner's Mass in F minor and Mozart's Mass in C minor, collaborating with renowned conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, Jordi Savall, Roderich Kreile, Johanna Soller or Sonja Lachenmayr and ensembles such as the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Collegium Vocale Gent, Styriarte Festival Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, or capella sollertia. As a Lied singer Winckhler has primarily dedicated himself to the works of Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms, performing with pianists like Fritz Schwinghammer or James Cheung.
