About the artist
...
Hanna Magdalena Gödl has been musically active since childhood in Graz, where she played folk music on the Styrian accordion, worked as a multi-instrumentalist in the Berlin underground scene, and was the bassist of the Swedish ghost-rock band Telepaths. Gradually, she began organizing her own concerts and tours, which eventually led her to Gothenburg and to cultural management studies at Kulturverkstan.
From 2019 to 2023, she was one of the directors of the Gothenburg Fringe Festival, where she initiated residencies, international projects, co-productions, and showcase festivals. Within the EU project Dancing Histor(y)ies – Binding Community and Heritage Through Dance, she produced site-specific contemporary dance works with the Swedish company ilDance in archaeological heritage sites.
Currently, Gödl works as a freelance producer, curator, and project manager, focusing on mediation concepts and international collaborations. In addition, she develops her own musical projects and is a co-founder of the collective Witches on the Run, which collaborates with museums across Europe on themes of witch hunts, historical narratives, and contemporary traditions.
In Styriarte 2027, Hanna Magdalena Gödl is the curator for cross-over at the Haus Styriarte.
