Jewish festival of Purim dedicated to Queen Esther

The cheerful Jewish festival of Purim is dedicated to Queen Esther, who, relying on only the power of truth and argument, succeeds in saving her people from the deadly intrigues of the Persian court. Purim commemorates Esther’s  deeds. And because it is so joyful, exuberant and high-spirited, there is of course also a huge repertoire of Klezmer music about Esther. Moritz Weiß and his fellow performers have put together the loveliest pieces in a  programme bubbling over with exuberance.
