Barbara Pöltl
The soprano studied at the University of Arts in Graz and deals with a diverse lied and concert repertoire as well as sacred music. In addition to successful performances at countless institutions, Barbara Pöltl is also a co-founder of the “Opernkarussell”, a community for music theatre in Graz.

Career
Barbara Pöltl, a native of Hartberg, studied at the University of the Arts in Graz, where she graduated with distinction in 2009. Even before that, the soprano celebrated her debut at the Landestheater Tirol as Marie in "Zar und Zimmermann". This was followed by guest engagements as Zerlina at the Theater Magdeburg and as Barbarina at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt. She sang at the donauFestwochen, the Montafoner Sommer, the Coburg and Schönebeck Summer Operettas. She is also intensively engaged in diverse song and concert repertoire as well as sacred music, from Handel's Cecilia Ode to Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
Education
The soprano was twice a scholarship recipient at American Institute for Musical Studies as well as Live Music Now. She has taken lessons with Krassimira Stoyanova, KS Brigitte Fassbaender, Gallina Pisarenko, Gottfried Hornik, Rosemarie Schmied and Annemarie Zeller. She has already worked with directors such as Josef E. Köpplinger, Laurance Dale, Isabella Gregor and Michael Schilhan, with conductors such as Aleksandar Kalajdcic, Peter Marschik, Marius Stieghorst and Andreas Schüller. In 2015 Barbara Pöltl made her debut at Bühne Baden, as well as at the Seefestspiele Mörbisch.2016 she makes her debut in a production of the Neue Oper Wien in cooperation with the Bregenz Festival. In 2017 she made a guest appearance at the Graz Opera, and in 2020 she sang one of the Muses in the short opera "Die Musen vom Parnass" at the Styriarte for the opening of the festival with live broadcast on ORF III.
Further engagements took her to the donauFestwochen, the Montafoner Sommer, the Next Liberty Graz, the Herbsttage Blindenmarkt and the Operettenspiele Murau, among others.
In 2020, the soprano founded the "Opernkarussell" with director Wolfgang Atzenhofer, a community for music theater in Graz, which aims to provide high-quality entertainment in the field of music theater in the Styrian capital as well as in the surrounding region.
