Tetiana Miyus

The agile, flawlessly radiant soprano and the infectious enthusiasm of the Ukrainian have delighted Graz opera audiences since 2011 in major roles from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras. She has also repeatedly earned acclaim at the Styriarte in productions under Michael Hofstetter, Andrés Orozco Estrada and Andreas Stoehr.

Education

Ukrainian born Tetiana Miyus graduated 2011 with excellence from the National Tschaikowsky Music Academy in Kiev, Ukraine.

On Stage

In 2012, after performing very successfully as a guest the roles of the 4th Maid (Elektra, R.Strauss) and the 1st Witch (Dido and Aneas, Purcell) at Opera Graz in Austria, she was engaged in the Opera's Opera Studio for 2 successive seasons. During this time she sang, as well as many small roles, the roles of Nannetta (Falstaff, Verdi), Musetta (La Boheme, Puccini) and Pamina (The Magic Flute, Mozart), all of which were highly acclaimed by both public and press alike.

Awards

In 2013 she won 3rd place in the International Vocal Competition Ferruccio Tagliavini in Austria. During 2013 she also made her debut as Fiordiligi in Michael Hofstette's experimental production at the Music University in Graz. She performed several times under his directing baton, lastly in 2016 at the Styriarte-Festival in Graz, where she had another success with the role of Euridice (Orfeo, Gluck) a production that was also shown at the International Gluck Festival in Nürnberg, Germany.

Engagements

Since the opening of the opera season 2014/2015, Tatjana Miyus is a soloist at Opera Graz singing numerous roles including Jemmy (Guillaume Tell, Rossini), Karolka (Jenufa, Janacek) and Lenion (The Greek Passion, Martinù). With the roles of Frasquita and Micaela (Carmen, Bizet) she began her successful working relationship with Stefan Herheim which resulted in an excellent performance of the role of Atalanta (Serse, Haendel).

In 2015 she received a scholarship for the Bayreuth Festival from the Wagner Forum in Graz. During the same year, a guest appearance with the the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra in Taiwan, followed. In the Autumn she was a guest as Tatjana (Eugen Onegin, Tschaikowsky) at the Stadttheater in Giessen, Germany. Roles  performed in the opera included Susanna (Susanna's Secret, Wolf-Ferrari), Lisette (La Rondine, Puccini), Donna Clara (The Darf, Zemlinsky) and Solvejg in the literary musical composition (Peer Gynt, Grieg) as well as Susanna (Le Nozze di Fiagro,Mozart ), Corinna (Il Viaggio a Reims) and Melisande (Ariane et Barbe-Bleue, Dukas ).  Tetiana Miyus has participated in Masterclasses with Helena Doese, Brigitte Fassbaender, Christa Ludwig and Professor Romualdo Savastano. In addition to her operatic experience, Tatjana Miyus regularly performs in concerts throughout Austria where she presents an extensive repertoire of church music

A guest at the hofe of Styriarte

She made her Styriarte debut in 2016 in Gluck's "Orfeo ed Euridice" under Michael Hofstetter, in 2018 she sang Marzelline in "Fidelio" (Beethoven) under Andrés Orozco-Estrada and in 2020 she appeared as Donna Elvira in the production "Don Giovanni in Nöten". For the streaming production of Haydn's "The Creation" she was in front of the camera with Recreation, Das Orchester in March 2021 and a part of the Styriarte 2021 production "Carmina Burana".
