Ivan Trenev

The accordionist Ivan Trenev was born in Macedonia in 1993 and completed his master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. In formations such as the Duo Trenev & Weiss, as well as in the Orchestra Recreation, his artistic engagement ranges from classical music, tango, Klezmer, Latin & Latin jazz, world music and pop to experimental compositions, performances and acting.

Accordionist without musical borders

Ivan Trenev was born in 1993 in Shtip, Macedonia, where he also attended the music high school. He has studied with many renowned professors such as Janne Rättyä, Joseph Macerollo, Inaki Alberdi, Mie Miki, Niko Kuumpuvaara, Krassimir Sterev or Georg Schulz. He gave his first solo concert at the age of 16.

He completed his master's degree in classical accordion at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Ivan's artistic engagement can be described as borderless. His repertoire ranges from classical music, tango, klezmer, Latin & Latin jazz, world music and pop to premieres of experimental compositions, performances and acting.

This approach to music and art in general has led to many collaborations with renowned orchestras and ensembles, such as the Georgian Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Recreation, Szene Instrumental, Schallfeld, QUKI Ensembleé etc.

He is currently also active with Trio MIM, Duo Trenev & Weiß, La Onda, Veit Club, Schauspielklub of the Schauspielhaus in Graz and the Ferrer Company, among others.

Diese Herangehensweise an Musik und Kunst im Allgemeinen führte zu vielen Kollaborationen mit renommierten Orchestern und Ensembles, wie dem Georgischen Kammerorchester, dem Orchester Recreation, Szene Instrumental, Schallfeld, QUKI Ensembleé etc.

Derzeit ist er auch mit Duo Trenev & Weiss, Balkalito Project, Trio MIM, La Onda, XAFER, Veit Club und Kompanie Ferrer aktiv.
