Bass player Kit Scotney
Since his studies in London and Vienna, Kit Scotney has conducted a perfect dialogue with the audience through the moving sound language of music. The British double bassist demonstrates his ingenious polyphony in renowned German ensembles such as the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.

Career
Kit learnt double bass in London and Vienna with Duncan McTier and Andrew Ackerman before coming to Germany at the age of 24. This was followed by two years of intensive violone and double bass studies with Dane Roberts in Frankfurt.
On stage
He plays with renowned ensembles such as Harmonie Universelle, Spira Mirabilis, La Stagione Frankfurt, La Chambre Philharmonique, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. He has been a member of the Cologne Baroque Orchestra for two years.
In addition to chamber music in small formations, Kit Scotney regularly performs with renowned ensembles such as Harmonie Universelle, Spira Mirabilis, Concerto Köln, Collegium Vocale Gent, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Kammorchester Basel and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. With the latter, he has been involved in opera productions of Leonore, Le nozze di Figaro, Idomeneo, Cosi fan tutte and Don Giovanni with Rene Jacobs.
In addition to the 'modern' double bass, Kit plays the so-called Viennese bass and the smaller G violone. Born in the UK, he lives with his family in Berlin.
