Mario Lesiak mit Laute

Coming from the field of classical guitar, Mario Lesiak discovered the beauty of the lute for himself. His passion for the delicate strings continues to this day and makes it a pleasure to listen to the musician and singer on the Renaissance and archlute.

About the artist

for the love of the gently-stringed instruments

After completing classical guitar studies, Mario Lesiak joined the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz to learn to play the Renaissance lute and archlute with Barbara Muschick. He is still attached to the delicate stringed instruments today and - true to historical practice - also accompanies himself at performances. At the same institution, he completed his vocal training at the Department of Early Music with Prof. Tanja Vogrin and participated in numerous master classes with Barbara Fink, Emma Kirkby, Julian Prégardien, Daniel Johannsen, Pascal Bertin, and many others.

Mario Lesiak performs regularly in the Graz area, but also at international music festivals such as Styriarte or the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht. Numerous concert tours also take him to Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic. He is currently a private student of tenor Daniel Johannsen.
