Martin Kautzsch supplemented his initial musical training at a grammar school specialising in music in Memmingen, in the Allgäu region, by singing in regional and national choirs. His membership of the Audi Youth Choir Academy took him to concerts throughout Germany.
Alongside his studies in architecture, Martin Kautzsch began advancing his individual vocal development under the guidance of Prof. Sebastian Hübner. He is currently studying with Carlos Mena at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Martin is particularly interested in historically informed interpretations of early music, from the Middle Ages to the Baroque, with a special focus on ensemble singing.
Participating in the Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies programme at the Schola Cantorum had a profound influence on Martin and shaped his artistic identity. Through working with professional ensembles during his studies, he developed an expressive singing style based on a natural approach to the voice.
