Über die Künstlerin
Alte Musik Spezialistin
The Slovenian mezzo-soprano and harpist Tanja Vogrin studied voice (with D. Simonović, J. Korat, A. Zeller, and J. Borowska-Isser) and classical harp (with D. Bernatović, E. Hoffellner, A. Clark, and Á. Pollóny) in Slovenia and Austria. Her interest in early music led her to Basel, where she pursued master’s studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in historical harp (H. Rosenzweig), medieval vocal studies (K. Dineen), and AVES – Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies (A. Rooley and E. Tubb).
Her artistic focus lies in historically informed performance practice of self-accompanied singing, particularly the monody of the early 17th century. Not only as a soloist but also through collaborations with various ensembles across Europe, she maintains a busy international performance schedule.
In addition, Tanja Vogrin teaches Baroque singing and Baroque harp in the Early Music department at the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory, and works as a lecturer for vocal ensemble and historical singing at Institute 15 of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
