Magic

Performing music is like performing magic when Mei-Ann Chen waves her magic wand. John Williams created cult music for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” with his magical orchestral colours. The soundtrack of the film lures old and young into the Stefaniensaal for an evening of magic: there is Schubert’s magic harp, Dukas’s reckless sorceror’s apprentice and a magical oboe concerto. An invitation to brandish your magic wand and cry “Expecto Patronum”.

Programme

Franz Schubert: Overture from "Die Zauberharfe"
