The moment the horns strike up the Evening Prayer, joy fills the hearts of all the children in the audience - the young and the not so young. The main piece in the 2024 Christmas concert is a great suite from Humperdinck’s immortal fairy-tale opera (originally planned for December 2020), with Italian conductor Vanessa Benelli Mosell and German Christoph Bielefeld on solo harp. Together they also transform Reinecke’s Harp Concerto into pure Christmas harmony.

His outstanding talent has not only won over the juries of several international competitions, but also the audiences of his extensive tours as a chamber musician and soloist. Christoph Bielefeld is also a highly esteemed accompanist.

Winning first prize at Prima la musica 2023 is testament to the polished vocal talent of this young up-and-coming singer from the Graz Opera Singing School. Paul has already shone in small roles on the big opera stage in Fiddler on the Roof and Tom Sawyer. For the Styriarte he will conjure up Humperdinck's Abendsegen in the Stefaniensaal.

Orchestra

Recreation is special in many ways: consisting of musicians whose nationalities range from Japan to Venezuela, most of the members received part of their training in Graz. After its formation in 2002, the collective played unique halls such as the Alte Oper Frankfurt and worked with outstanding conductors.

Gramophone magazine praised her ‘dazzling technical mastery of demanding music’. The universal ability of the pianist and conductor was already evident when she made her solo debut in New York at the age of 11. Today, the Italian is regarded as a rising star in both the classical and contemporary repertoire and has made guest appearances with the United Europe Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
