Master pianist
Bernd Glemser
lures us into the beauties of Weber's Concerto in F minor for Piano and Orchestra, while principal conductor
Mei-Ann Chen
brings out the best in Weber's Freischütz Overture and Beethoven's Fourth Symphony.
Inhalt
atemberaubend
Programm
Carl Maria von Weber: Ouvertüre zu „Der Freischütz“ & Konzertstück in f für Klavier und Orchester, op. 79 Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphonie Nr. 4 in B
Intro
Jeweils 20 Minuten vor Vorstellungsbeginn erzählt Ihnen Intendant Mathis Huber etwas zur Geschichte des Abends.
Absolute freedom and absolute control - these are apparently not opposites in Bernd Glemser's brilliant piano playing. The Swabian, born in 1962, won all the piano prizes at an early age and has since performed on the world's greatest stages. And audiences and the press are constantly amazed by the unrivalled quality and poetry of his performances.
Recreation is special in many ways: consisting of musicians whose nationalities range from Japan to Venezuela, most of the members received part of their training in Graz. After its formation in 2002, the collective has played in unique halls such as the Alte Oper Frankfurt and has worked with outstanding conductors.
Born in Taiwan, Mei-Ann Chen has lived in the US since 1989 and holds a doctorate in music (conducting) and a master’s degree in violin performance. One of America’s most promising young conductors, she was the first woman to win the Malko International Conductors Competition and has been appointed chief conductor of Recreation Graz beginning fall 2021.
