Career

Andrea Götsch, originally from South Tyrol, is the artistic director of the Ehrphilharmonie Wien.

She received her first clarinet lessons from Christian Laimer and completed her studies with distinction at several institutions: the Conservatory of Bolzano (Roberto Gander), the Mozarteum Salzburg (Alois Brandhofer, Dario Zingales), the University of Music in Nuremberg (Thomas Holzmann), as well as the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (Reinhard Wieser, Alexander Neubauer) and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Johann Hindler, Christoph Zimper).
She studies conducting with Prof. Sophie Rachlin and gains experience assisting renowned conductors such as Cornelius Meister and Andrés Orozco Estrada. Her artistic development is further shaped by studies in psychology and philosophy, music education, and mental training.

Conductor

As a young and rising conductor, she leads concerts with various orchestras, primarily in Austria, Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia and Korea.

Clarinetist

Since 2019, Andrea Götsch has been a clarinetist with the Vienna Philharmonic and the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera, and since 2023 a committee member of the Philharmonic Association. She also performs internationally as a soloist, appearing with the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Recreation Orchestra and I Virtuosi Italiani, among others.

Awards & Ensembles

She is a prizewinner of national and international competitions and a founding member of several ensembles, including “Divinerinnen,” “Clarinet & Strings Vienna,” and “La Philharmonica.” She also performs in various other chamber music formations. Numerous radio, CD and television recordings document her work.

Teaching

Since 2020, she has been teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), and since 2025 additionally at the Mozarteum Salzburg. She also receives commissions as a composer. Outside of music, she plays football both for the Vienna Philharmonic football team and in the Austrian Women’s Bundesliga for Wiener Sport-Club.
