With Weber’s dramatic Clarinet Concerto No. 1, South Tyrolean Porträt von Andrea Götsch im schwarzen Sakko, mit einer Klarinette in der rechten Hand, die sie an ihre Stirn lehnt Andrea Götsch captivates us, before gently softening us again from the podium of Recreation with Schumann’s “Spring Symphony.”

Clarinet virtuoso at the conductor’s podium

It is not every day that you find a clarinet virtuoso who is also a highly gifted conductor. Andrea Götsch from South Tyrol is a familiar face in the clarinet section of the Vienna Philharmonic, but she is also Artistic Director of the Ehrphilharmonie Vienna and increasingly in demand as a guest conductor worldwide. With Recreation she gives a brilliant rendition of Weber’s dramatic Concerto in F minor and then moves to the conductor’s podium to evoke springtime feelings with Schumann’s Symphony No. 1.
