Pianist Larisa Rojnić

Trained in Koper and Graz, the young pianist shines with a deep sensitivity for German Romanticism and for music from her homeland on the Istrian peninsula. Since 2024, the passionate chamber musician has been playing in the Klimt Piano Trio, which already impressed at the Martha Debelli Competition in Graz.

Croatian pianist Larisa Rojnić draws on her Istrian heritage to develop a uniquely expressive and disciplined artistic voice. She has won prizes at over twenty international competitions and has performed throughout Europe, including at renowned venues such as the Fürstensaal Fulda, Mimara Zagreb, Muziekcentrum Enschede, Casa Verdi Milano, Veranstaltungszentrum Judenburg, Minoritensaal Graz, and Helmut-Liszt-Halle Graz.

Career

She began studying piano with Professor Valentina Cesnjevar at the Koper Music School and continued her education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, from the preparatory program to her master's degree with Zuzana Niederdorfer and currently with Markus Schirmer. She also studies with Natalia Trull at the Academia del Ridotto. In addition to her formal training, Larisa has participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists throughout Europe, including Grigory Gruzman, Jacques Rouvier, Roberto Plano, Eva Poblocka, Elena Levit, Vincenzo Balzani, Anne Queffelec, Tamás Ungár, and Beata Bilińska.

On stage

A passionate chamber musician, Larisa performs in ensembles ranging from duos to quintets, influenced by mentors such as Chia Chou and Alexander Pavlovsky and enriched by masterclasses with Daniel Rowland, Maja Bogdanović, and Marianna Shirinyan. She has participated in festivals such as Stift Musical Encounters and the Arsonore Festival Graz. Since October 2024, she has been a member of the Klimt Piano Trio, which, although still in its infancy, has already won a prize at the Martha Debelli Competition in Graz.

Repertoire

Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to modern canon, with a particular passion for German Romantics, including Schumann and Brahms, as well as the lesser-known works of Clara Schumann, which she researched extensively as part of her master's degree. Committed to promoting contemporary music, she pays particular attention to composers from the Istrian peninsula, such as Luigi Dallapiccola. Larisa pursues an artistic approach that emphasizes genuine engagement with each work, exploring the expressive possibilities of the piano while conveying emotion and narrative to her audience.
