As an actor, author, singer and Austrian poetry slam champion, Graz-born Christoph Steiner is at home on many stages and is convincing both as a musical performer at the Graz Opera and as a permanent ensemble member at the Next Liberty.

At home on many stages

Christoph Steiner, born in Graz in 1991, began studying acting at the Academy for Performing Arts in Ludwigsburg in autumn 2012. In 2014 he transferred to the University of Arts in Graz and won the ensemble prize at the German-speaking Drama School Meeting in 2015.

In 2016 he presented his diploma thesis "WOLF – Ein Stück für Erwachsene in Kinderschuhen", which was and can be seen at Next Liberty. Christoph Steiner was first seen as Emil in the Next Liberty family musical "Emil and the Detectives" at the Graz Opera and since the 2016/17 season he has been a permanent ensemble member at Next Liberty.

In 2017, together with his acting colleague Michael Großschädl, he won the "STELLA-Darstellender.Kunst.Preis für junges Publikum" for their outstanding acting performance in the play "Patricks Trick".

In addition to his involvement in Next Liberty, he sings in a band, is active as an author and was Austrian Poetry Slam Champion 2016. He brings the poetry slam format "Dead or Alive" to Next Liberty with Yannick Steinkellner in a cooperation with "Performte Literatur und Slam Steiermark" (Plus).
