hunting season at Minoritensaal
Autumn is hunting season. In the Baroque Minoritensaal, Christian Binde sounds the hunting horns around Vivaldi’s autumn concerto. For Handel, they symbolize the strength of the biblical hero Samson, for Dresden’s court conductor Heinichen, the hunting successes of Augustus the Strong, and for Telemann, the splendour of a Hamburg “Tafelmusik”, music played as entertainment at a feast. In between, Maria Kubizek brings magnificent stags to life with Vivaldi’s breathtaking leaps and runs.
