Shows

Fotosder 6 Musiker:innen der Early Folk Band The Early Folk Band enchants us on Maundy Thursday with a wonderfully beautiful musical fairy tale, telling - with mischief, poignancy, and playful spirit - the story of the heroic knights of the Round Table.

Content

Humour, playfulness, and deep melancholy

At the hour when day and night meet, the most noble knights gather at King Arthurʼs court – and the courtly world is thrown into disarray. A green knight, carrying his head under his arm, challenges Arthur, and Gawain boldly confronts the mighty nature spirit. Meanwhile, Perceval searches for the Holy Grail, Tristan and Isolde drink the wrong love potion, and Lancelot destroys the love between Queen Guinevere and Arthur. The Early Folk Band brings these legends to life on stage with humor, verve and profound melancholy under the direction of multi-instrumentalist Gesine Bänfer.
