Unexpected shades
Music by (or rather: freely adapted from) Johannes Brahms (Brahms Unlimited), Dmitri Shostakovich, Ludwig van Beethoven (Ludwig in Havana), Justin Hurwitz (La La Land) and others.
Trianima: three bold musicians from Austria and South Tyrol who decided that a harp, a clarinet, and a cello make for a truly cool ensemble, one capable of creating delicate, transparent sound textures, with no lack of nuance and subtle shades of tone. Their programme re:colored moves between classical music, jazz, and contemporary works, balancing structure with improvisation. Familiar compositions are given new nuances, fragments and motifs transform, and well-known soundscapes appear in entirely unexpected shades. A must-hear!
