Der Schmerz der Jungfrau Maria in der Musik der Passionszeit
Whether it is Rome, Venice, London or Oxford, the repertoire of sacred music for Good Friday is inexhaustible. The award-winning English ensemble Stile Antico devotes its radiant choral sound wholeheartedly to this moving repertoire. They sing Palestrinaʼs Stabat mater for St. Peterʼs Basilica, the Tenebrae by the Spaniard Victoria, and a Marian motet by Monteverdi, but also humble prayers by the greatest English masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
Programme
Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina: Stabat Mater
Tomas Luis de Victoria: Tenebrae factae sunt, O Vos omnes
