Master on the lute
Fabio Accurso has devoted his career as lutenist to exploring not only the historical repertoire for the lute but also every possibility of combining the lute with ancient and modern sounds. He is now working on a duo project (lute and arabic ud, with Peppe Frana) and a solo live project (lute and live electronics). In the past thirty years he has performed regularly with many ensembles and has been active member and sometimes founder of Accordone, Laboratorio ‘600, Al Qantarah, Sarband, Janas, and Dramsam. His concert activities led him through the whole of Europe, the USA, Japan and Australia. He performed at many international festivals,such as Accademia Chigiana, Siena; Istanbul Festival; Tokyo Summer Festival, Flanders Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Resonanzen (Vienna), Tage Alter Musik Regensburg, Festival de Sablé. As lutenist he took part in many recordings with the above mentioned groups. As soloist, he recorded the integral works of the Italian Renaissance lutenists Hyerolamo Ferrutio and Domenico Bianchini.
