Content

A celebration for Emperor Frederick III in his castle

There would be no shortage of mystery thrillers in Graz Castle when it comes to Emperor Friedrich III. Even the mysterious motto of the Habsburgs looks like a code, just waiting to be cracked: A.E.I.O.U. The Styriarte performs an extensive programme in memory of the often underrated father of Emperor Maximilian. Cinquecento sings sacred music from the Imperial Court and the Medicis’ Florence. Things are more upbeat in the Castle Gardens with secular music.

Ensemble Oni Wytars

Ensemble

Shimmering, dancing and unbelievably lively, the cultures grow together when this excellent ensemble, formed around Marco Ambrosini, Katharina Dustmann, Peter Rabanser, Michael Posch and Riccardo Delfino, celebrates the sounds of the Mediterranean. The elaborate celebrates a marriage with the popular, just as the Orient celebrates a marriage with the Occident.

Cinquecento

Vocal ensemble

Founded in Vienna, the ensemble consists of five professional singers from Austria, Belgium, Germany, England and Switzerland, and is one of the leading vocal groups in Europe. Cinquecentoʼs main focus is on the music of the imperial courts of Austria in the 16th century.
