An den Mond

Pianistin Kristina Miller

Keyboard goddess Pianistin Kristina Miller und das Orchester Recreation Kristina Miller pays homage to the moon and lets her dazzling keyboard playing shine with Debussy's "Clair de Lune", Liszt's "Réminiscences de Norma" and jazz standards by Duke Ellington , among others, in its captivating light.

Vincenzo Bellini dedicated his last opera to Norma, a Celtic priestess in the archaic male-dominated world of the Druids. Her great aria is Casta Diva, a prayer to the moon, which was the inspiration for Franz Liszt’s exuberant virtuoso piece Réminiscences de Norma. Virtuoso pianist Kristina Miller plays the fantasy as part of a programme that is apparently steeped in moonlight, from Claude Debussy’s Clair de Lune to jazz standards.

Music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Sergei Rachmaninow (Sonata No. 2 in b flat minor), Claude Debussy (Clair de Lune), Franz Liszt (Réminiscences de Norma), Oscar Peterson (Duke Ellington Medley / Back to Indiana) a. o.
