The winds that carried Marco Polo’s ships from Anatolia—and lands even further afield—back to Venice also whispered tales of the salty tang of sea air and camel caravans laden with exotic spices. Like brightly glowing pieces of a mosaic, these five musical bridge-builders weave together the traditions of East and West to create a mystical soundscape. The Greek-Italian ensemble, led by santur player Dimitri Psonis, conjures a timeless musical world in which classical and traditional music gently intertwine.
