The Summer Light

In den Streicherklängen des Don Antonio Vivaldi spiegelt sich wider. Die tatarische Zaubergeigerin Alfia Bakieva und die Virtuosinnen des Styriarte Festspiel-Orchesters lassen einen Sommertag des „rothaarigen Priesters“ Revue passieren: vom Erwachen der Stadt unter dem Trällern des Stieglitzes über eine feierliche Messe am Morgen und die Begrüßung eines neuen Botschafters mit Trompetenschall bis zum Nachmittag in lähmender Hitze. Ein Sommergewitter erlöst die Venezianer vom Schwitzen, doch in der Nacht erwachen die Gespenster in den Palazzi zum Leben.

Annie Laflamme

Annie Laflamme, born in Canada, feels just as close to the language of Old France as a Québécoise as she does to the music of the Old World as an artist. A specialist in historical flutes from the Baroque to the Romantic periods, she has been performing worldwide with leading early music ensembles in Montreal, Vienna and The Hague since graduating, is a founding member of the Compagnia di Punto, and is a dedicated teacher who now lives in Germany.

Alfia Bakieva

Born in Novosibirsk, the Tatar multi-instrumentalist currently lives in Salzburg. As a violinist in particular, she impresses with her versatility and delights audiences with Tatar music in her folk music ensemble Ekiyat, in the Argentine tango orchestra Rascasuelos, and as a soloist with Baroque music ensembles such as Il Pomo d’Oro, Il Concerto Scirocco, ArtHouse17, Cappella Mediterranea, Bonne Corde, Jordi Savall’s Concert des Nations and many more.
