an excess of sound
No Baroque composer could resist the temptation: two orchestras instead of one, an excess of sound, the ultimate in Baroque splendour. Alfredo Bernardini divides his Zefiro Baroque orchestra in two to create stereo sound in Helmut List Halle, with oboes, bassoons, horns, strings and harpsichord. Whether for the Feast of the Assumption or a boat ride on the Inner Alster Lake, whether in London, Venice or Hamburg – the audience simply could not get enough of the waves of sound sweeping back and forth.
